Greetings and Happy New Year to our friends, clients, and patients! We are doing well and consider ourselves blessed in many ways. As our family ages and evolves, we realize how precious our time is together, since soon, we will be scattered to the wind. Katie, our eldest (it is hard to believe that the little girl who was 3 years old when we started our practice is now 21), is in the middle of her junior year at Mizzou where she has a dual-major in Journalism and Geography. This past semester, she was honored with the position of “Copy Chief” for The Maneater, the UMC student newspaper. This coming semester, Katie starts the next phase of her training at The Columbia Missourian, the city newspaper. This summer, she applied for various internship programs in journalism, most of which are far from the St. Louis area. Will, age 18, is finishing his senior year at SLUH. He works part-time at the clinic, has a strong interest in music, and is training for the spring varsity lacrosse season. He has been accepted to Mizzou where he plans to major in Anthropology starting next Fall. Timmy, age 12, will be an only child starting next Fall when his big brother leaves for college. His current interests include Boy Scouts, where he achieved Second Class rank, swimming and playing banjo in the youth banjo band. For Christmas this year, his favorite present was a young adult California King Snake. In spite of his brother and sister's suggestion that he name the snake “Herod” or “Balthazar”(or some other cool “king name”), he has named the snake “Cookies and Cream” based on the snake's coloration. We hope the snake is not too embarrassed. Our two labs, Camden and Mallory (6 years) and our terrier mix, Kenny (3 years), are having fun in the snow and love sleeping by the fireplace. Stay warm and have a great 2011!
